Improving hip fracture care at OLVG Hospital in The Netherlands
OLVG Hospital, a large trauma center in The Netherlands, was facing the consolidation of two hospitals and was seeking assistance to improve their patient pathway and optimize treatment for geriatric patients with hip fractures. We worked closely with their multidisciplinary team and introduced the Patient Pathway Hip Fracture Program, which successfully achieved these objectives.
Creating a seamless patient journey for knee and hip replacements at SBAHC Hospital in Saudi Arabia
SBAHC Hospital, a rehabilitation hospital and medical center in Saudi Arabia, was seeing growing demand for knee and hip replacement surgery. Using the CareAdvantage approach, we co-created a series of measures to remove non-value adding activities and organize care around the patient. We saw 17% increase in knee and hip replacement cases only one month after implementation, through reduced waiting time and number of pre-operative hospital visits required by patients.
A patient-focused, technology-enabled program for primary total hip and knee replacement surgery
GSTT Hospital wanted to optimize outcomes for patients undergoing primary total hip and knee replacement surgery through the integration of evidence-based practices with streamlined pathways of care. The Care4Today® Orthopaedic Solutions was developed to enhance care at lower costs, ultimately shortening durations of inpatient stay. Improved outcomes were also observed in patient satisfaction, confidence, and expectation.
Improving outcomes in colorectal surgery through the implementation of enhanced recovery and pre-habilitation program
We co-created and implemented the Colorectal Care program with MMC, helping them improve patient outcomes of colorectal surgery by reducing the number complications, shortening hospital stay, and bettering quality of life, while delivering cost savings at the same time.
The integration of technological enhancements into patient engagement and pathway management
Together with Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust we introduced the Care4Today® Orthopaedic Program, providing patient-focused health advice and multi-media technology aimed at improving patient engagement in primary total hip and knee replacement therapy. The program resulted in significant reductions in length of stay and the rate of delayed discharge, along with lower risks in re-admissions, complications, and re-operations.
Improving efficiency and reducing variation in the operating room at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Trust
Reports had highlighted extensive variation in operating room throughput for routine surgical procedures in Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Trust. In response to this demand, we helped implement the OR Optimization (Theatre Efficiency) program, which reduced variation in theater start and finish times and increased surgical utilization by 9%.
Improving intraoperative quality and efficiency by successful standardization of functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS)
The ACQUA Clinic was looking for a solution to improve operational quality and patient safety for those undergoing functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) at their facilities. Working with their multidisciplinary team we helped them implement a surgical procedure manager, which successfully standardized and improved the efficiency of FESS procedures resulting a reduction of variability and average OR time over the clinical trial period.
