"I Can Walk, Hike and Dance Again"

I really waited too long before having joint replacement surgery. I was at the point that I wasn't able to walk without pain.I would go to the grocery store and I would always get the cart because I could rest my upper body on the cart and take weight off my hip joints. I couldn't make it through a big store like Wal-Mart or Home Depot without searching for a place to sit down. The last straw was at the casino when my husband wandered off and I couldn't find him or have the strength to even search for him.  I felt trapped and vulnerable.

I couldn't walk without pain. My chiropractor told me that I was not responding to his treatments like I should. He sent me to the hospital for x-rays.  The x-rays showed bone on bone contact and arthritis in both hips.  I knew it would not get any better without some kind of medical intervention.  I went to a seminar at the hospital and heard their information on joint replacement, I knew I needed to move ahead with surgery.

Joint replacement changed my life, I can move again. I can walk, hike and dance again. I have my life back, I can do the things I want. I love to travel and I was not able to do that before the surgery, now I can.

I know there's nothing as good as the joint you were born with; until that joint doesn't work the way it should anymore.  I thought, at this point, I can go on living in pain and not being able to have the life I want or I can have the joint replaced and gain strength again. Now, I live the life I really wanted.
