"Best Decision I Have Made!"
Life before my knee replacements was painful, very painful at times. It didn't really stop me from anything, it just slowed me down. My knee would lock up by simply turning over in bed. I couldn't stand for long periods or the pain would be unbearable and swell.
I had my left knee replaced in October 2014, after trying shots and braces. Nothing helped. The doctor wanted me to wait until I was older, but I didn't make it. I was 40 when I had my left knee replaced, and 42 when I had my right knee replaced. My right knee was replaced in January 2016. Both of my knees were bad. The doctor said it looked like my knees belonged to a 90 year old lady. I know I may have to go through having another surgery when I get older, but I am not scared or worried about it. Having my knees replaced was the best decision I have made!
Life now is great. No more pain, no more worries. I was able to return to work after each knee at 3 months to a very demanding job that requires walking, standing on concrete, going up and down on a forklift, picking up things, and stacking freight for 13 hours a day, 3 days a week. Yes my knees may get stiff after working all day but there is NO MORE PAIN!!!
If you are considering having your knees replaced and your doctor has told you it is needed, go for it. It's a tough surgery and recovery and physical therapy are hard, but it is so worth it. No more pain, no more shots, and no more big bulky braces. Would I do it again? IN A HEARTBEAT!!! And I would not even think twice about it. Sign me up.
