"Rehab, Rehab, Rehab"
I was having major walking issues and my leg was out of alignment before I had my knee replaced. It wasn't too painful, I just had a lack of mobility. I had to stop running, but continued to cycle.
The turning point for me that made me decide to get my knee replaced was when I couldn't keep up with my daughter and wife when we went on college tours.
Now that I have a new knee, my leg is straight and I am back to doing major workouts. My repaired knee is just as strong as my other one.
My advice to other people considering joint replacement is to take rehab seriously. Go into the procedure in better than excellent physical condition. It WILL pay off after surgery. Seek out the best surgeon, and follow their advice.
