"My New Knees Changed My Life"
My life had stopped being what it used to be because I had two bad knees that were very painful. I used a cane and was limited to how far I could walk without stopping to sit and rest the knees. I couldn't do my daily routine. I got both of my knees replaced when I was 63 years old. I was still young and had many years ahead of me, so I decided to just do it. I am so glad I did! Life is too short to spend so much of it in pain and not being able to be active.
I learned that I had developed scar tissue which was preventing me from progressing in rehab, so I had to go back to the hospital so they could break up the scar tissue. I was able to work my knee to bend 110 degrees or more. Don't give up if you hit a wall. See your surgeon about the possibility of scar tissue stopping your progress and take the next step to remedy the situation. You will be glad you did.
My new knees have totally changed my life. I was able to move into a house that has stairs just five months after having my surgery. My knees held up well. I have a tendency to overdo it, so I had to take it easy and let the healing continue.
