William's Story
What was life like before joint replacement?
Before I had my joint replaced, I could hardly walk. I was in pain.
What was the turning point for you (the moment you knew you needed to move ahead with surgery)?
When I got to the point where I couldn't walk without pain or the use of my cane, I knew I needed to get joint replacement surgery done.
What is life like now? How has joint replacement changed your life?
Since I've had my joint replaced, I can walk again. I am riding my mountain bike again. Life has returned to normal.
What information do you have that would help others considering joint replacement?
Do as much rehab as possible. When your life changes to the point of just sitting around and not wanting to do anything because of the pain, it's time to make the decision to talk to your doctor and fix the problem.
