The MatrixRIB® Fixation System: A Treatment Option for SRF

The MatrixRIB® Fixation System is indicated for the fixation and stabilization of rib fractures, fusions and osteotomies (the surgical cutting or removal of bone) of normal and osteoporotic bone. Refer to the MatrixRIB Fixation System Product Insert or Surgical Technique Guide for the complete indications for use.

How It Works

The low-profile plates are designed to fit the average curve of the rib and maintain function of the rib cage to allow you to breathe normally. Depending on the location of the fracture(s), the plates can be placed using a minimally invasive technique through a small incision. The plate is laid across the fracture and fixed in place to allow the bone to heal properly.

In a 16-month survey based on 50 patients treated with MatrixRIB Fixation System:3

  • Of patients who were employed at the time of injury, 33 of 36 (92%) patients returned to work at the same job that they performed pre-injury
  • 84% of patients reported no pain and that the discomfort was completely gone by about 5.4 weeks after discharge
  • 94% stated that they would recommend the MatrixRIB Fixation System to friends and family if they suffered significant rib fracture injuries
